Some of my fondest memories as a little girl, were of spending time in the kitchen with my mom. She seemed to prepare food in such an artful way that it became an expression of her deep love for her family. One of her very special treats she presented to us was her baklava. The traditional family recipe, and the love she put into each batch made her baklava irresistible. Now that she is gone, I've passed the tradition on to my daughter, Tamara, and together we continue to prepare baklava in the same way my mom did.
Whenever I make baklava and share it with family and friends, the response is always the same, "This is the best baklava I've ever tasted!" With that in mind, we began Philo and Honey as a way to present this delicious and timeless treat to all of you.
